Every piece is made with care, creativity, and a deep appreciation for the craft.
My name is Paul Daves, the creator, owner, and operator of Country Creation Woodshop.
The roots of this shop go back to 2004, when I returned home from deployment in Iraq. I needed a hobby and a way to reconnect with everyday life. Family members had furniture that needed refinishing, so I gave it a try — and discovered how much I enjoyed bringing a piece of history back to life. After restoring five or six pieces, I was ready for a new challenge and began building original work: cedar blanket chests, tables, end‐grain cutting boards, jewelry boxes, and more.
In 2009, after retiring from the U.S. Army Reserves, I finally had more time to pursue this growing passion. By 2016, I was fortunate enough to build a dedicated woodshop. By then, nearly every family member owned one of my cutting boards, so I pushed myself into more complex designs and new types of projects. I get bored easily — in a good way — and I’m always looking for something new to learn and create.
After retiring from the power production industry in 2025, I decided it was time to share my craft more widely. In 2026, I officially started Country Creation Woodshop and began participating in local craft shows. I love talking with people about the process behind each piece, and I always keep an open mind to new ideas and custom projects.
My goal is simple: to create high‐quality wood products that enrich your home and last for generations. Every piece is made with care, creativity, and a deep appreciation for the craft.
